MMOexp PoE Ice Shot Reverse Chill Stormweaver Endgame Build Guide
This is the final build guide for Ice Shot Reverse Chill Stormweaver—a build that is blazingly fast, deceptively tanky, and extremely punishing if you misunderstand even a single mechanic. When everything is working with POE currency, you feel immortal. When one interaction is wrong, the build completely falls apart.
This is not a beginner-friendly build. If you don't enjoy reading mechanics, troubleshooting your character, or experimenting with gear and passives, this build is not for you.
Core Mechanic: Reverse ChillThe entire build revolves around Reverse Chill, which comes from the unique chest piece Siern's Inheritance. This item reverses the effect of chill—meaning instead of slowing you down, chill speeds you up.
Important clarification:
Why Reverse Chill Is So PowerfulWith proper scaling, reverse chill can grant:
Movement Speed ScalingPrimary movement speed sources include:
The Fix: You only need one flat life regeneration roll on any piece of gear. The best place is the amulet implicit, but it can be anywhere. One point of flat regen completely solves the issue.
Things That Will Brick the BuildThis build is extremely sensitive. Several things will outright kill you:
1. Fire Damage
If you deal fire damage, reflected ignites will kill you. You can anoint Crystallised Immunities to fix this, but doing so restricts gearing options. If you plan to use Headhunter, you must anoint it—but honestly, Headhunter is not recommended. You can steal mods that halve your chill effect, which destroys both your speed and damage reduction. In most cases, Against the Darkness provides more movement speed and all the damage you need.
2. Reduced Effect of Chill / Slow
Self-chill is still technically considered a slow—even though it speeds you up. Any source of reduced slow effect will reduce your movement speed.
Passive Tree Tech: Squeezing Energy ShieldYou lose two major defensive slots (Body armour and Gloves). To compensate, the build uses several advanced passive interactions:
Spirit and Auras:The build currently uses 100 Spirit. Options include:
Good luck.

Important clarification:
- Reverse chill does not convert chill into another ailment like ignite. It simply flips the effect.
- To make reverse chill reliable, the build uses Shackles of the Wretched, which reflect non-freeze ailments back to you. Every time you chill an enemy, that chill is reflected onto yourself, causing you to become permanently self-chilled—except now that chill gives you massive movement speed.
- “You cannot be Shocked for 6 seconds after being Shocked.”
Why Reverse Chill Is So PowerfulWith proper scaling, reverse chill can grant:
- 300%+ movement speed (316% while sprinting in this setup)
- ~80% damage reduction
Movement Speed ScalingPrimary movement speed sources include:
- 35% movement speed on boots
- ~60% movement speed from the belt
- Additional movement speed nodes on the passive tree

- You cannot level with Wanderlust
- You cannot use Rite of Passage, Ox Spirit, and similar modifiers
Passive Tree Tech: Squeezing Energy ShieldYou lose two major defensive slots (Body armour and Gloves). To compensate, the build uses several advanced passive interactions:
- Heroic Tragedy (Timeless Jewel): With the Verona modifier, it transforms a keystone to grant Energy Shield based on Strength. It provides ~120% increased cold damage and roughly 1,000 Energy Shield.
- From Nothing Jewel: Allows you to skip inefficient travel nodes in an already point-starved tree.
- Against the Darkness Jewel: Each notable in its radius grants damage (5 notables = 20% more damage). Crucially, combined with Stronghearted, it reduces self-shock duration to nearly 100%.
- Weapon Set 1 – Buff Setup: Wand + Effigy of Cruelty. Used to apply Thunderstorm and shock magnitude buffs.
- Weapon Set 2 – Main Damage: Bow setup with Ice Shot. Uses Rigwald's Ferocity.
- Use your mana flask manually.
- Take mana efficiency nodes.
- Temporarily equip a Wastegate Belt, socket Lifetap Spirit into your life flask, then swap back.
- For single-target, Freezing Mark + Arc of Siphoning provides mana leech.
Spirit and Auras:The build currently uses 100 Spirit. Options include:
- Herald of Ice
- Blasphemy + Temporal Chains (excellent defensive layer)
- Combat frenzy charge setups
Good luck.
